What is surge protection?

The plan offers up to $10,000 in annual coverage for your home's major appliances damaged by a power surge.

The Home Electronic Surge Protection plan covers the sensitive electronics in your home, such as desktop/laptop computers, tablets, TVs/monitors, gaming systems, and more. The plan offers up to $10,000 per year in reimbursement for repair or replacement of covered electronics damaged by a power surge.

Ultimate Surge Protection
The Ultimate Surge Protection plan is the highest level protection plan that is offered, covering the appliances and electronics listed in both the Appliance Surge Protection and Electronics Surge Protection plans. Customers benefit from up to $20,000 per year in reimbursement for repair or replacement of covered appliances and/or electronics damaged by a power surge.

Why do I need this protection for my home?

Power surges can happen at any time, which can cause costly damage to the appliances in your home. The Home Surge Protection plans help you pay for the unexpected costs of repairing or replacing your covered items.

What are power surges?

Every home experiences power surges. Lightning is often the cause of power surges and causes brief spikes in voltage, often lasting only millionths of a second. The magnitude of volts varies, putting your indoor appliances and electronics at risk for damage or failure and costing you thousands in repair or replacement.

I already have power strips, so why do I need this protection?

Although it is recommended to have your sensitive electronics plugged into a power strip surge protector, our programs offer an extra layer of protection for home appliances that aren’t protected by power strips or if those devices fail. In the event your appliances are damaged or destroyed by a power surge, your Home Surge Protection plans will help repair or replace the items covered (up to $10,000 per year for the Appliance or Electronics plans, up to $20,000 per year for Ultimate plan).
